With the cooperation of the Winthrop Police Department, Elliot Whittier Insurance urges parents and caregivers to have their children’s car seats checked on National Seat Check Saturday on September 24. As part of Child Passenger Safety Week, September 18-24, certified child passenger safety technician Officer Steven Acone from the Winthrop Police Department will be available to inspect car seats and provide free hands-on advice from 10:00AM until 2:00 PM at Elliot Whittier Insurance, 12 Revere Street, Winthrop, MA (across from Winthrop Marketplace).
“It never ceases to amaze me what a difference it makes to have your child car seat checked. Of all the inspections I do, I would say 95-99% of the car seats are in need of an adjustment,” said Officer Acone.
“The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently released updated car seat recommendations for children through age 12,” said Steve Roy, Elliot Whittier CEO . “We want to help you do all you can to best protect your child when traveling. During Child Passenger Safety Week, we urge all parents and caregivers to come down to our office and have your car seat checked by Officer Acone. When it comes to the safety of your child, there is no room for mistakes.”
