on Saturday Sept 24th

With the cooperation of the Winthrop Police Department, Elliot Whittier Insurance urges parents and caregivers to have their children’s car seats checked on National Seat Check Saturday on September 24. As part of Child Passenger Safety Week, September 18-24, certified child passenger safety technician Officer Steven Acone from the Winthrop Police Department will be available to inspect car seats and provide free hands-on advice from 10:00AM until 2:00 PM at Elliot Whittier Insurance, 12 Revere Street, Winthrop, MA  (across from Winthrop Marketplace).

“It never ceases to amaze me what a difference it makes to have your child car seat checked.  Of all the inspections I do, I would say 95-99% of the car seats are in need of an adjustment,” said Officer Acone.

“The U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently released updated car seat recommendations for children through age 12,” said Steve Roy, Elliot Whittier CEO .  “We want to help you do all you can to best protect your child when traveling. During Child Passenger Safety Week, we urge all parents and caregivers to come down to our office and have your car seat checked by Officer Acone.  When it comes to the safety of your child, there is no room for mistakes.”

Stop Wondering if that Child Car Seat is installed correctly

Stop wondering and find out if your child car seat is installed correctly

Free car seat inspections will be performed at Elliot Whittier Insurance on Saturday May 14th from 10Am - 2PM

We all know the feeling.  Looking back at the smiling cherub placed in your care, nestled in his or her carseat with you at the wheel.  Whether you are a mom or a dad, a grandparent or a caregiver, there’s that knawing concern in the back of your head – or perhaps in the pit of your stomach:  “Did I do my BEST job installing this car seat?”

Well … you can stop wondering if you get your carseat inspected by someone who is certified to perform just such an inspection.  Often you can get this done at your local police station, but it often depends on if that certified officer is on duty at a time that’s convenient for you.

OR, you can stop by on Saturday, May 14th, between the hours of 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM to the Elliot Whittier Insurance Winthrop office, at 12 Revere Street, Winthrop (right across the street from Winthrop Marketplace)  At this time and for the 4th year in a row, we are pleased to sponsor FREE car seat inspections thanks to Officer Steven Acone and the Winthrop Police Department.  Periodically, Officer Acone attends a 40 hour course, where he retains certification for the Car Seat Inspections.

I’ve personally witnessed Officer Acone re-install dozens of car seats, many of them seemingly well installed.  I think I saw only one that did not need his adjustment!  Once Officer Acone gets done tightening the belts and adjusting the harnesses, you won’t believe how immovable that car seat can become!

These will be conducted on a first-come/first-served basis.  You can assure your place by registering here.  We will also have goodies for the kids.   Questions?  Call Chris Millerick 857-816-4935.  See you then!
